Transferring ratings made easy - this tech tip can save tons of time syncing your raw session with the rated final shots your client selected for you. Using this workflow you no longer have to pick the images that will be forwarded to post by hand. To make it as universal as possible no terminal commands or additional paid software will be used. Step by step I will walk you through two scenarios.

A. YOU GOT ONE FOLDER WITH SOLELY THE SELECTED JPEGS?

1. In Finder open the folder with the JPEGs the AD/client picked/rated and select all images.
2. Press ‘Cmd + C’ to copy the images to the clipboard.
3. In Capture One, browse to the Folder/Album/Favorite that include the corresponding RAW files.
   ( In most cases the ‘All Images’ album will do just fine)
4. Open the ‘Filename List’ function and press ‘Cmd + V’ to paste the filenames
   ( Select > Select By > Filename List… ) 

5. The raw files are now selected and can be re-rated or be saved as an album by choosing the following option. 
   (File > Create Album from > Selection)

1. Download and install Adobe Bridge incase this free and super useful tool is not yet on your system. Download here
   In Adobe Bridge browse to the top image folder and press the following to display all files, including those in sub-folders.
   (View > Show Elements from Subfolders)
   The indexing process within Bridge might take a second to complete.
2. Now filter or ‘Sort by rating’ and select all top-rated JPEGs the Client/Art Director rated for you. (s. screenshot)
3. As Bridge will copy the file path to your clipboard instead of the filename when using Cmd+C, I recommend following this workaround:
   Copy ( Cmd+C ) the selected images within Bridge and paste ( Cmd+V ) them into a temporary folder created separately within Finder or Bridge. This folder can be deleted after syncing the ratings.
   
   You are now at the starting point of scenario A. Follow those steps to complete the synchronisation process.
